CCTV Headquarters & China Zun Overview

A comprehensive guide to two of Beijing's most iconic modern architectural landmarks in the Central Business District.

CCTV Headquarters

The CCTV Headquarters is a skyscraper designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas and Ole Scheeren of OMA. Its distinctive looped design, often referred to as "The Big Pants" by locals, consists of two leaning towers that are connected at the top and bottom.

Completed in 2012, the CCTV Headquarters stands at 234 meters tall and houses production studios, offices, and technical facilities. While the building is not generally open to the public, its exterior has become a popular spot for photography and sightseeing.

China Zun (CITIC Tower)

China Zun, also known as CITIC Tower, is a supertall skyscraper in Beijing's Central Business District. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, it is currently the tallest building in Beijing and one of the tallest in China.

Completed in 2018, China Zun stands at 528 meters tall with 108 floors. Its design is inspired by the traditional Chinese zun, a type of ancient wine vessel, giving it a distinctive tapered shape that has become an iconic part of Beijing's skyline.
